On the crowded show floor, the number one goal of an exhibitor is to stand out and attract new customers and reaffirm existing relationships. Every year we see new trade show trends, strategies, tactics implemented by companies in order to achieve that goal, some widely successful while others are flops.
Attendance
After steadily decreasing show attendance over the past few years, TSNN (Trade Show News Network) reports an increase of 3% for 2012 over 2011. While not a significant increase, this reversal signifies the resiliency of conventions in the digital world. Some marketing executives have questioned the importance of exhibiting today while others are reinforcing the need to interact with potential customers face to face.
